We're going on a bear hunt!!
We had a visit from the park warden on Saturday afternoon to inform us that a young mother bear and her cub were seen in our camping area. Well, that was all I needed to hear and off we went on a bear hunt. Unfortunately. we didn't have any sightings of them and therefore I will not be posting any photos of bears. We had a great weekend and the weather was wonderful. We drove to Southampton Saturday morning to the bakery so Duncan could get some sour dough bread which he had been craving. He picked up a light and ancient grain loaf which were both very good. We stopped by for a visit with John but unfortunately Joanne was working so we will have to see her another time. On our way out we stopped by Gerry's and enjoyed an order of poutine fries. Yummy!! Our campsite was right by the water so it was nice to listen to the waves rolling in all weekend. The red squirrels and blue jays were frequent visitors as well. I enjoyed a few hikes in the park and two wonderful relaxing evenings by the campfire. Unfortunately Rod was home in Waterloo so we will have to try and visit with them the next time we are up that way. The beach is almost non existent as the water level is so high. One of the boardwalks over the sand dunes comes to an abrupt end as the stairs have been washed away. We enjoyed our weekend at Inverhuron and look forward to our next adventure in this park.
